I'm Allison

It happened once when I spent the evening in a sleeping bag on the sand, drifting off to the movement of the lake.

And again when we celebrated my mama's breast cancer remission.

It happened thirteen years ago when I first laid eyes on my husband walking
into our college dorm in his Staples uniform.

A few years later, I fell hard while sitting around a campfire, swapping stories with our college friends turned family.

Then again, when I felt two tiny little feet kick my belly from the inside.

When I fall in love, I fall hard.

When I fall in love, I fall hard.

when love happens, it changes you.

when love happens, it changes you.

Sleeping under those stars helped me appreciate the beauty of nature in a way I never had before.
My mama's recovery showed me just how fragile our finite lives are.
That boy in his uniform asked me to marry him four years later, making me a part of my favorite team.
Those campfire nights showed me how family can absolutely be the people you choose.
And those tiny feet that are running around our house today are the most precious gift I've ever been given.

I also fell in love in July of 2011.

I woke up sick to my stomach with nerves
I'd never felt before.

With a camera I had gotten for Christmas, and a few extra prayers, I photographed my friends, Ashley and Devon, promise to love each other forever.

No part of me realized that day would change the trajectory of my life.

But I don't always
have a camera in my hand.

But I don't always have a camera in my hand.

I share my house with my handsome husband, Stephen, and our baby girl, Freya.

We've always got music playing, candles burning, and if you stay too long, we'll invite you to play board games.

I can recite most lines from any episode of Parks & Rec you throw my way,
and I am always up for discussing the latest Bachelor breakup or Survivor torch snuff.

& a documentary watcher

A wife, mama,
+ a comfy clothes wearer

A storyteller + a lover of change.

& I'll probably cry at your wedding.

Sipping chartreuse and green tea while looking at the most perfect white subway tile and hand painted signs. Driving through the mountains to Portland reminiscing about the best memories back home. Cozy sweaters, vintage demin, and Pabst while telling one of a kind love stories. The trials and tribulations of love, joy, and happiness. Lastly, champagne brunch and avocado toast while surrounded by the finest exposed brick, dreamcatchers, and maps to our souls. Dreamcatchers, macrame and 100 Days of Summer. Anthropologie trips and walks on the beach, love letters and secret admirers. Fall breeze, flannels, and hot cocoa. Whales and dinosaurs and handmade crafts. Salvage denim, antique leather bags, and the first time we watched Moonrise Kingdom.

The slow hum of traffic and the cool breeze that signify the joy of a new day.
