This shoot was a first for me.
Brent emailed me a while back and said he was planning to propose to his girlfriend, and wanted to surprise her with engagement photos that very same day! From the very beginning, I was super excited about this shoot. A surprised fiancé + a gorgeous location just made things even sweeter.
Brent and I continued to email each other to iron out the details, and the closer the day got, the more excited I got! (I would imagine Brent was pretty stoked, too.) Finally, the day had come. I saw Brent and Stephanie walking towards me in all their newly engaged glory. Beaming.
We jumped right in. Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that when we arrived, there were a few people in the park. And when I say a few, I mean a whole lot. As in four entire bridal parties at once. Not to mention the picnicking families and dog walkers. There were quite a few people to work around. But from the very first frame I shot, I knew we had a good thing going. Every move they made just worked. They were comfortable with each other and it was evident.
At some point during the shoot, I asked Stephanie when Brent told her about the photos. I assumed earlier that morning, or over lunch. Nope. It was when they pulled in the parking lot. So she had approximately 3 minutes to adjust to the fact that she was about to let some strange girl take her picture. And she rocked it like a champ.
I hope you enjoy looking at these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them.
PS. we had so much fun, we’re doing it again! So be on the lookout for part 2 of Brent & Stephanie’s Engagement Photos.
